Privacy Policy and Disclosures
Our Privacy Statement
Boulder Valley Credit Union's single purpose is to provide you with competitive financial products and friendly services to meet your financial goals, which necessitates that we share information about you to complete your transactions and to provide you with certain financial opportunities.
It shall be the policy of the Boulder Valley Credit Union to safeguard, to the extent reasonably feasible, all member, non-public, personal, and financial information contained within the Credit Union's records. In that regard, the Credit Union shall endeavor to require all credit union vendors to contractually agree to treat all member, non-public, personal, and financial information as confidential and to contractually protect such information from unauthorized disclosure to any third party. The credit union shall also endeavor to require all credit union vendors to review the Credit Union's privacy and confidentiality policies and practices, and to further require vendor adherence to those policies and practices. For purposes of this policy, the term "member non-public personal and financial information" shall be understood to mean any information received from a credit union member that is not generally available to the general public through an alternative source.

We collect the following nonpublic, personal information about you from a variety of sources and may disclose all the information we collect, as described below, as permitted by law and in accordance with our privacy policy.From membership and loan applications and other forms, we obtain information such as name, address, social security number, and income.
From your transactions with our affiliates, we obtain information such as your account balances, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage.
From consumer reporting agencies, we obtain information such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
From verifications of information you provide on applications and other forms, we obtain information from current or past employers, other financial institutions, and other sources listed on the application.
In order that
we may provide you competitive products and services, we may disclose
all of the information we collect, as described above, to
companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf and
to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
We may also disclose nonpublic, personal information about you to non-affiliated,
third parties as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically
include information to process transactions on your behalf, to follow
your instructions you authorize, to conduct the operations of the credit
union, or to protect the security of our financial records.
If you terminate your membership with Boulder Valley Credit Union,
we will not share information we have collected about you, except as
permitted
or required by law.
How To "Opt Out" of Third Parties Who Perform Marketing or Other Services.
If you wish to "opt out" of all third parties mailings, you can notify the Credit Union of which accounts you wish to have opted out. This request will not apply to information about your transactions or experience with Boulder Valley Credit Union such as: account information, account usage, payment history, credit history, credit worthiness and business partners, vendors and service companies (such as the vendor who prepares our monthly statements). An opt-out request by any party on a joint account will apply to all parties on the joint account. We are permitted by law to share any information about transactions or experiences with you. However, information taken from credit reports will not be exchanged or shared with anyone.
How We Protect Your Information.
We restrict access to nonpublic information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic, personal information.

Boulder Valley Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. You can help by following these simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide FREE access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
- Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
- Keep your information current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.
